The Council cooperates closely with the Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry and assists in the protection, preservation and development of the business sector in the Saudi Arabia. It acts as a leading partner in the nation's development process, and helps preserve its human and financial resources as per the Islamic values. The key role of the Council is to serve the common interests of the Saudi Chambers, support the development of the private sector and enhance its role in the national development.

Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry
Since its formation in the early 60s, the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry has been playing a leading role in the Kingdom's national economy through supporting and encouraging the private sector. The Chamber acts as liaison between the public and private sectors. Other major objectives include but are not limited to the following:
- Collection and dissemination of business information.
- Identification of investment areas and opportunities inside and outside the Kingdom.
- Development of the material and labour resources of Riyadh region.

Non-Governmental Organisations in Saudi Arabia
The Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI)
Founded in 1980, with permanent headquarters in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI) is a regional, non-governmental, non-profit urban research, technical and consulting organization. Audi is the technical and scientific arm of the Arab Towns Organization (ATO), has an active membership of more than 400 Arab cities and towns representing 22 Arab states.
A major goal of the Institute is the enhancement of the quality of municipal services in Arab towns and cities. This is achieved through professional and technical support to municipalities, and municipal officials and administrators. The Institute is also dedicated to the improvement and preservation of the character and heritage of Arab Towns.
Saudi Red Crescent Authority
SRCA provides emergency medical services in five administrative regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1963. By 2009, the Society had 447 First Aid Centres, run by 5,507 staff, with 1300 ambulances which are distributed in all hospitals and centres around the country. The Red Crescent has a particular role to play during Hajj (the annual pilgrimage to the Holy City of Makkah), providing on-the-spot first aid and using its fleet of vehicles (1300 in 2009) to take emergency cases to the nearest medical facility.
Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities
The Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities is an international non- governmental and non-profitable Organization. Its members are capitals of Islamic countries and cities from all over the world. Its activities are focused on the achievement of its goals within the framework of sustainable development of human settlements.
The Organization has 141 capitals and cities as active members, from 54 countries members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference spreading across four continents of Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. It also has eight member cities, as observers, from six non-OIC countries, and fourteen Associate members from ministries, commissions, organizations, universities, institutes, research centres and cultural centres from Islamic and non-Islamic countries in relation to the activities and goals of the Organization. The Organization approves the use of Arabic, English and French languages in its works.
Federation of GCC Chambers of FGCCC
Founded in 1979, Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FGCCC) is a non-profit Gulf organisation in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. FGCCC has six GCC national chamber members, which in turn, have 35 local chamber members with more than 760,000 businessmen.
The mission of the Federation includes the following three main objectives:
1. The realisation of GCC economic integration within a comprehensive, effective and advanced format based on a solid conviction
2. The representation of the GCC private sector in Saudi, regional and international forums and present the GCC businessmen views and visions and co-ordinate their positions regarding the various economic issues and policies.
3. The consolidation of the role of member chambers, councils and federations as representatives of the business communities and private sectors in their respective countries.
The Secretary General of the Federation of GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FGCCC) is currently Dr. Abdulrahim Hasan Naqi.
