Oman officially called the Sultanate of Oman is an Arab state occupying the south-east corner of the Arabian Peninsula; it has a strategically important position at the mouth of the Gulf. It is bordered by the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf, between Yemen and UAE. As with other Gulf nations, oil and gas is the mainstay of the economy, agriculture and fishing are important source of income in Oman. As the oldest independent state in the Arab world, Oman has a wealth of archaeological and historical marvels, including ancient walled cities, forts and mosques.

The country is also recognized for its tourist attractions. Wadi's, desserts, beaches and mountains are areas which make Oman unique among its neighbouring GCC (Gulf cooperation council) nations. Oman has come out to be a modern State with world-class infrastructure in transport and communication, and the government and people continue to forge confidently ahead along the path of comprehensive development in political, economic and social sectors.
