On the 13th of May, China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation (CEATEC) and International Merchandising Center – Cyprus (IMC) held a press conference in Beijing to introduce BusinessGlobal.com – The International On-Line Exhibition Center. The two sides from Cyprus and China signed a cooperation agreement. Cyprus’ Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism Mr. Antonis Paschalides and China’s Ministry of Commerce - Deputy Director General, Asia Department, Mr. Liang Wentao attended the conference and delivered speeches.
BusinessGlobal.com – The International On-Line Exhibition Center is a project in cooperation between CEATEC and IMC. The project organizers will hold Country-Specific and Industry-specific international on-line exhibitions. By using the latest technology, an interactive environment will be created to provide an effective platform for enterprises and visitors to contact, communicate, and cooperate with each other conveniently. The services that will be provided will not only inherit the characteristics of physical exhibitions, but also enable exhibitors to change the way they exhibit their products and services while saving on pavilion, travel, accommodation, shipping, staff and other exhibition costs. In addition, visitors can visit many exhibitions at the same time, which is impossible in physical exhibitions.
China’s Ministry of Commerce - Deputy Director General, Asia Department, Mr. Liang Wentao said that BusinessGlobal.com is not only consistent with the requirements of China's economic and trade work requirements, but is also able to provide the opportunities to SMEs to get promoted internationally. In today's shrinking global economic environment, the traditional way to grow and develop the market shows a number of unfavorable factors with the most influential being the highly increasing cost for doing so, which will undoubtedly make two sides, EU and China, miss many cooperation opportunities. However, BusinessGlobal.com provides an effective solution to this problem.
The two sides agreed that they will cooperate in order to establish the on line virtual exhibitions project. The first exhibition “Best of China 2009” which will take place in September, provides an effective platform for Chinese corporations, especially SMEs, to contact and cooperate with potential buyers around the world. As the main partner in China, CEATEC will be responsible to promote the project and help Chinese enterprises entering the exhibition.
